Tahoe Guide

Local Secrets

Inn by the Lake’s mid-town, lake view location is central to most of what makes the South Shore special. Check out our property and local neighborhood maps. Our Guest Service Representatives are available 24 hours a day with a wealth of information on where to dine, places to see and what to do. Check out for the day one of our books on hiking trails in the Tahoe Basin.

Interested in a value priced, healthy lunch or dinner? Try Freshies across the street from the Inn. This top local favorite features an eclectic Hawaiian themed menu. Their rooftop dining area opens on Memorial Day weekend. Best blackened fish tacos in Northern California!

Fremont Bistro & Wine Bar is a new addition to our neighborhood. Excellent Chef and staff. The menu is French, great appetizers and an extensive wine list. Want something a little bit more casual? Head upstairs to the Tudor Pub for a pint and a traditional English Pub menu.

Immediately west of our property, across Rufus Allen Blvd, is 56 acres owned by the City and County. Feel free to meander through the winding paths on this property to the shops of funky Harrison Avenue. Return along the pathway adjacent to the Lake for a different perspective. You will see the County Library, which welcomes visitors. The City’s Recreation Center, indoor pool and Ice Arena are a short walk down Rufus Allen. Kids enjoy the fully equipped playground located next to the Rec. Center. Campground by the Lake is also located on this tree-studded parcel.
